Orion graduated L2 again! (and T-day Cluster)
So I guess I haven't updated Orion's blog in a while and I should've a number of times! : ) Orion graduated from L2 for the second time, and since there were two less dogs in the class, due to it being the night before Thanksgiving, Orion was calmer and easier to work with. He had no outbursts and we only left the room for recall practicing, because that really gets him going. We even sat in the room when we were split up doing heeling, which was a first for this L2 session. At the end of class we got to show off our trick! Everyone loved Orion's! He SMILED!! On cue!! For the whole class!! He was great and everyone really thought it was a great trick! Smiling is a very cool trick!
So last weekend? or I guess the weekend before, the one after Thanksgiving, Orion, Oen (my boyfriend) and I went to a big dog show. A huge dog show actually, about 3000 dogs were there. Agility, obedience, rally and confirmation. Very much fun. I went there to meet a breeder for the collie puppy I am hopefully getting next summer. But anyway, the point about going to the show was that I brought Orion in and walked him around in all the buildings, and...... : ) he didn't snap at any dogs, he was very friendly and wonderful. I specifically didn't have any food on my person because I think that makes him be a jerk. So... I was very proud of him. :)
Also, as a side note, I was on a dogwalk with Orion and this pug Norman, and Orion locked onto a squirrel, stalked out to the end of his flexi-leash, and that was all that existed for him. I had Solid Gold cookies in my pocket, so I decided to push it, I know, I know, not a good idea usually, so I called him, "Orion! come!" And guess what!? He came!! Yeah Orion! What a wonderful dog he's really turning out to be. Not that he wasn't to begin with, but he's just getting better all the time!
